Quality healthcare is both a priority and a reality at Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) with over 100 Physicians representing 30 medical specialties. MCCH is a Four Star hospital and is a public, not-for-profit regional medical center. MCCH offers a full range of outpatient services in addition to a 24-hour, 7 day a week Emergency Room staffed by four ER physicians. Our outpatient services include: outpatient surgery/recovery, physical therapy, Home Care, Hospice, digital mammography and bone densitometry, MRI, ultrasound, and many more. 

MCCH has invested in numerous new developments and expansions in the last few years. Among them, a 165,000 square foot South Tower, a state of the art ER facility, 9 new surgical suites and hybrid OR, a 12-bed Acute Rehab center, a 12-bed Gero-Psych unit slated to open October 2017, a Women’s Pavilion (which includes contemporary Labor & Delivery rooms, a C-section room, Postpartum rooms in addition to a nursery incorporating the latest in medical technology and infant care, women’s diagnostics, and a post surgical recovery area), and the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House.  

MCCH's Wellness Center is a 36,000 square foot medical fitness facility that consists of a fitness floor with state-of-the art fitness equipment, a heated lap pool, a half court gym used for activities such as fitness classes and recreation, fully equipped locker rooms, the Center for Rehab and Sports Medicine, a heated rehabilitation pool, massage therapists, the Center for Diabetes and much more. The Center provides all types of water aerobic classes, land aerobics classes, educational seminars for members and for the community on health issues, and the hospital only staffs the Center with trained professional such as; exercise specialists with degrees in exercise science and dietitians who can help members in every aspect a healthy lifestyle.

Murray and Calloway County (MCCH), is located in beautiful Murray Kentucky (The Friendliest Small Town in America per USA Today and Rand McNally), and is situated only 15 miles from the 170,000-acre Land Between the Lakes, a recreational area known worldwide for its fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and wildlife population. Murray is home to excellent schools (that consistently rank in the top ten in the State), outstanding healthcare facilities, a great housing market, low crime rate, and a whole host of recreational, entertainment and cultural activities combine to make this area a desirable place to live and work. Murray State University is located in Murray and features 5 academic colleges. MSU enrolls over 10,000 students each year and has campuses in Murray, Hopkinsville, Henderson, and Paducah.

The prime labor force group (ages 25 through 54) represented 37% of the population of Calloway County. Other age brackets represent; 15% of residents are 65 and over, another 15% are between the ages of 20-24, 9.8% are between the ages of 55 to 64. Calloway County had an average unemployment rate of 3.7% in 2016, while the average unemployment rate for all counties in the labor market area was 4.7%.
