Located in the southern part of the Commonwealth, Glasgow sits at the entrance to the Western Waterland. Convenient to the sites and attractions of Bowling Green, cave country, and Louisville, Glasgow has a history and charm all its own. Founded in 1799 by a group of Revolutionary War veterans, it boasts historic homes and buildings, museums, a downtown walking/driving tour, and a Civil War fort.

If there were a Glasgow-Barren County photo album, it would be filled with pictures of families gathered in the high school stadium on a fall Friday night cheering on the Trojans or the Scotties, or of pancake breakfasts and chili suppers in the fellowship halls of local churches. Some would be of fireworks and a band concert in the town square on the Fourth of July. It’s a perfect portrait of an American hometown, which is why it’s easy to understand why people want to come back here. In fact, one of the region’s charms is that there are so many things for families to do and see.

No matter the season, residents are active. There are football and soccer games in the fall. Basketball and volleyball leagues are in full swing during the winter months. And just as the daffodils and tulips pop their heads out of the ground, Little League and softball heat up.

By summer, the Barren River Lake is the place to be for a multitude of water sports. Besides the recreational outlets, the region features the best in small-town living. From secondary to higher education, the schools are top-notch. And with Western Kentucky University offering a Glasgow campus, getting a degree is more convenient. Health-care is excellent with several specialists and a progressive, innovative hospital and the cost of living is reasonable.

The town has everything you need. And the price of land and homes is affordable. You can get more for your money than other places.
