Clark Regional Medical Center (LifePoint Health)

Clark Regional Medical Center is part of LifePoint Hospitals, a leading hospital company based in Brentwood, TN focused on providing quality healthcare services close to home.  LifePoint acquired CRMC on April 30, 2010, and announced plans for the new facility which has been designed to meet the community’s comprehensive healthcare needs. 

“Our amazing new hospital facility will provide advanced services, making certain that the changing healthcare needs of our community are met today and into the future,” said Kathy Love, CEO of Clark Regional Medical Center.  “Our expanded location will be invaluable to Clark County and surrounding communities and will ensure that our physicians and staff have excellent facilities and the latest technology tools to provide the highest level of care possible for all of our patients.”

The 131,000 square-foot hospital, which will replace CRMC’s current facility, will feature 79 beds and contain space for many important medical and support services including:

Enhanced healthcare information technology capabilities, including electronic medical record systems with bedside computer charting at all patient care locations

Emergency Department with 22 private exam and treatment rooms

Construction is to begin fall of 2010, with completion of the new facility expected spring 2012.



Clark County is in central Kentucky, 20 miles east of Lexington, 96 miles east of Louisville and 101 miles south of Cincinnati.


Winchester was founded as a town in 1792, but its roots date from 1685 when Shawnee Indians inhabited the area.  Clark County was named for George Rogers Clark, commander of the Great Northwest Campaign that took place in 1779-80. 


Leeds theatre is the center for Arts hosting plays, local productions, and sell-out events.  The Winchester Art Guild Gallery in downtown showcases many of the local artisans beautiful pieces of artwork.  The Winchester Opera House hosts many cultural events, weddings, holiday fairs, and community events.  The Bluegrass Heritage Museum houses the many artifacts, memorabilia and history of the county’s past.  Its beautiful Romanesque Revival style architecture was built between 1893 and 1895.  The museum also has a unique gift shop and hosts monthly lecture series.  Clark County is the hosts of the Annual Daniel Boone Festival, which is held the weekend of Labor Day, the Beer Cheese Festival in downtown Winchester held the second weekend in June, and the Scarecrow Festival in October.


During the summer, the Clark County Fair draws big crowds for livestock shows, rodeo, tractor pulls, horse shows, live entertainment and much more.  Throughout the year, the Winchester Clark County Parks and Recreation Department and YMCA offer plenty of sports-related activities for people of all ages.  The community has walking trail for the fitness enthusiasts or those who just love to connect with Mother Nature while taking a stroll on the many paths in our landscape.  Clark County’s geographic location also appeals to newcomers.  Not far away is Natura lBridge State Resort Park, with a 54-acre lake in Daniel Boone National forest, fishing, boating, playgrounds, cottages, lodges, and beautiful scenery.
